Maher Spars With Conservatives Who Refuse To Admit Economy Improved Under Obama

I’ve been really tired of seeing this Kochhead Republican “strategist” Mercedes Schlapp all over the cable news shows in the last few months and turning up as a regular on Hardball more and more often, but I have to admit, I’d be a whole lot less tired of it if she received the same treatment she…

A President Finally Speaks Up

In Cleveland Ohio. City Club of Cleveland full speech, Jobs and Unemployment, President Obama, The Affordable Care Act on March 22, 2015 at 9:06 PM

Early in the week President Obama spoke before an audience in Cleveland Ohio.  Since the start of the speech, my mind has echoed.

“Why are we just now seeing and hearing such from a president who delivers far more credit for saving a nation than any of us offer?”

Maybe if the president and the sheepish DCCC and DNC had performed similarly, the DEMs may have secured a few more million votes last November.

We’re writing to request your organization’s endorsement of the upcoming Healthcare Justice March and to invite you to become a partner in our mission to see H.R. 676, the Expanded & Improved Medicare for All Act become law, establishing a truly universal, tax-supported, fully comprehensive and equitable healthcare system in the United States.
<a href=https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10205205845439736&set=o.333894666673291&type=1&theater

We now have over 250 group and individual endorsers including Nation of Change; Bold Blue; Labor Campaign for Single-Payer Healthcare; Unite Women; Progressive Democrats of America’s Healthcare Is a Human Right issue group, PNHP chapters in California, South Carolina, Western Washington; Poor Peoples’ Economic Human Rights Campaign; SPAN-Ohio and Healthcare for All chapters in California, Oregon, Maryland, Texas, and South Carolina. The complete list is available at http://healthcarejusticemarch.org/?page_id=70 and is updated daily.

We are grateful for each and every person and organization who has endorsed us, but the fact is that in order to make the March as impactful as it can be, we need more! The recent Peoples’ Climate March had over 800 supporters who not only endorsed, but mobilized their members and helped in other ways to make that march a success. As one of their endorsers, DUH was awed by their results and we hope to follow their example with the Healthcare Justice March!

If your organization would like to endorse the March, go tohttp://healthcarejusticemarch.org/?page_id=30

If your organization is able to donate time, skills, goods, services, or money to the cause or can gather a group of volunteers to help at the event, please email us at hjm4all@gmail.com.

For our “wish list” of people, services, and things we know we need, go to http://healthcarejusticemarch.org/?page_id=453.

Thank you for considering being a part of healthcare history and for all you and your organization do to create the reality we want to see.

In hope and gratitude,

Being Liberal

“If by a liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, some one who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, their civil liberties…if that is what you mean by ‘liberal,’ then I am proud to be a liberal.”-JFK

From the peace of liberalism to the horrors of American conservatism along with a “wanna be” presidential guy who didn’t even bother to address assertions of Obama as a communist.

Late Reagan years, the Clinton Years, the Bush sub-prime bubble and the collapse of Trickle-down Reaganomics via two wars, sub-prime flop and cutting taxes. In other words the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DIJA) suffered a Bushwhacking.

The Obama economy eventually stifled the DIJA slide and sent the market on a whirlwind escalation.

But, then we all know DEMs manage the US economy a far superior manner than the GOP.

Progressive Centralists: Food Stamps and Related Statistics

“I was always annoyed with it in Congress because we had an anti-war unofficial group, a few libertarian Republicans and generally the Black Caucus and others did not – they are really against war because they want all of that money to go to food stamps for people here.”

Ron Paul former US Congressman-Texas.

While politicians and political operatives like Newt Gingrich grease their political skids with dog whistle rhetoric regarding Food Stamps, they know the program benefits without regard to race. They also know million across the nation believe food stamps is a program that offers benefits to black people at a disproportionate rate.

UPDATE:

This graphic is shared from other pages; not a PC original. The pie chart shows proposed federal discretionary spending for Fiscal Year 2014. The SNAP food stamp program falls under mandatory spending, not discretionary, and therefore, yes, this meme is technically incorrect on that point. However, it is fully correct on the stated intention, which is that the food stamp program is not what’s causing our budget woes.

In FY 2014, we spent $76 billion on SNAP (food stamps):http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=view&id=2226

By contrast, in FY 2014, we spent $615 billion on defense / military:http://www.cbpp.org/cms/?fa=view&id=1258

The Republican 2016 federal budget cuts billions from food stamps budgets while delivering the program to state administration.

So, the GOP has proposed cuts $11 billion from Food Stamps programs.
