CNN Makes Another " BREAKING NEWS" Screw UP: ISIS FLag?

In CNN, Fox News, Incompetent reporting Shepard Smith, ISIS NON-Flag, Mike Tobin Baltimore shooting, MSNBC on June 28, 2015 at 9:38 AM

If you think for one second American media is truly about dissemination of news and current event related information and credible reporting, think again.

US media with an exception for NPR and certain PBS broadcast are strictly about the business of ratings garnering entertainment. Cable news broadcast are delivered for the most part by celebrity (good looks people) or serious ideologues. As are all Fox News personalities, the majority of MSNBCs personalities and without exception the bubbling mass of host over on CNN.  From MSNBC’s Chris Hayes recent apology to (of all people) Bill O’Reilly, and O’Reilly’s opportunist retort segment with Bernard Goldberg, through frequent examples of false reporting for Fox News:

Punditfact checks cable news channels

At Fox and Fox News, 10 percent of the claims PunditFact has rated have been True, 11 percent Mostly True, 18 percent Half True, 21 percent Mostly False, 31 percent False and nine percent Pants on Fire.

That means about 60 percent of the claims checked have been rated Mostly False or worse. Here’s how it breaks down (as of Jan. 27, 2015):

O’Reilly retorts to the Chris Hayes’s screw-up via a background visual clearly developed as propaganda and fodder for loyal Fox viewers.

We know Fox News, we know MSNBC, we know CNN, and we most assuredly know of recent revelations about the lack of honesty form Brian Williams (NBC) and, of course, we most assuredly know of Brian Williams’ incredible history of less than credible reporting.

As we consider credible media, the mental process cannot come to fruition without recognition of incompetent, excitement garnering segments and outright callousness so often manifest in modern days news coverage, let’s take a look and listen to the latest bombardment of “BREAKING NEWS” from CNN.

What we saw in the CNN segment was yet another example of rushing to live broadcast without any level of verifying or validating the central point of the segment. But, Fox doesn’t have a monopoly on sch flawed and excitement based reporting and broadcasting.

Fox and the shooting: Mike Tobin reporting.

UPDATE — 3:52 p.m. ET: Shepard Smith has apologized for what appears to be Fox’s erroneous reporting.

The apologies abound and are becoming as frequent as new broadcast programming breaks for advertisements.

Media serves a critical role in all nations. The role is so critical some nations literally restrict open media, or tolerates media as long as broadcast or print stories comply with message sanctioned by the state. In the US we don’t restrict media, but we are becoming ‘reality’ news that focuses on entertainment vs. factual and credible reporting. In the case of Fox News, news takes on a much more nefarious and sinister dynamic; that of advancement of regressive conservatism and a communications entity for the GOP. CNN seems to expending far too much energy and air-time on their 24/6 moniker of “BREAKING NEWS.”  Breaking News is great, but when broadcast are centered in fear mongering without any effort to discern that the cameras exposes, the network suffers an embarrassing reality. Ultimately, the viewer is the true victim.

Think of the millions who witnessed the original CNN segment and went about their day with the thought of a brazen manifestation of ISIS right here in the States and a midst a gay pride gathering.  Yes, the message from CNN was very much Fox New like and akin to much reporting from Breitbart News.
