Fox News chooses next presidential prospects.

And the winners are:  Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, and John Kasich will appear in the prime-time showdown.

And the B-Team bottom dwellers are:

Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, George Pataki, and Jim Gilmore.

The top ten is a smorgasbord of US conservatism and a college of candidate racism, homophobic, a libertarian chameleon, a whacked-out former brain surgeon, a failed governor who is he can kills ISIS like a teachers union, a noted exponent of phasing-out Medicare, a New Jersey bully, a young lost soul from Florida and Kasich (criticism not yet fully developed).
The bottom seven, no comment.

THE GOP’S RACE TO THE TOP OF THE CRAZY TREE — With the first Republican 2016 presidential debate coming up next week, the number of irrational statements coming out of the mouths of GOP candidates is accelerating, and the outrageous nature of their comments escalates. Because their propaganda boss, FOX News, has dictated that only the top ten polling candidates will get a podium on the stage, the candidates are in a feeding freenzy to see who can say or do the most outrageous thing. Rand Paul is burning a copy of the tax code. Lindsay Graham is destroying his cell phone (because Trump gave out his number on live TV).

And now Huckabuck is comparing President Obama to the Nazis. How nice? THIS is your Republican Party. A circus side show, featuring freaks of all shapes and sizes. While it’s funny in some ways, it’s sad that this is the way America selects its “best citizens” for the office of the presidency.

At least this is how the rapidly vanishing GOPpers do it.

And their circus has just begun.

The Libertarian Paul Stands Tall Against True "Liberty"

fLibertarianism (Latin: liber, “free”) is a political philosophy that upholds liberty as its principal objective. Libertarians seek to maximize autonomy and freedom of choice, emphasizing political freedom, voluntary association and the primacy of individual judgment.

REMINDER: PlannedParenthood didn’t profit from aborted fetuses, you’re thinking of Mitt Romney— The Baxter Bean (@TheBaxterBean) July 18, 2015

Before the following piece from If You Only News, let me say Rand Paul, libertarians and the common conservative often speak in in terms of “liberty.” It seems “liberty” for the libertarian and Paul literally means “what we want.” Why shouldn’t the person who has become pregnant and makes the tough choice the pregnancy is not good for herself nor the child have the liberty to make a decision that first works for the mother?

For sake of clarity and to remain point-on, I repost the WIKI definition of Libertarianism:

Libertarianism (Latin: liber, “free”) is a political philosophy that upholds liberty as its principal objective. Libertarians seek to maximize autonomy and freedom of choice, emphasizing political freedom, voluntary association and the primacy of individual judgment.

Allow me to ask a more poignant question. Why does “liberty” seem to apply to the white male, while relegating the wises of others to second or third tier?  Has “liberty” become a dog whistle for white privilege?

The definition doe snot seem to fit the actual human experience beyond the white male and his wife (The married female generally supports the GOP).

Libertarian, small-government minded Rand Paul certainly doesn’t let “personal liberty” get in the way when it comes to a woman’s right to make her own healthcare choices. Completely ignoring facts and sensationalizing the “issue” of 7 pound baby abortions, Paul asked this question of DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Shultz:

“Why don’t we ask the DNC: is it OK to kill a 7-pound baby in the uterus? You go back and go ask Debbie Wasserman-Schultz if she’s OK with killing a 7-pound baby that’s just not born yet.”

Wasserman-Shultz provided an answer as requested:

“Here’s an answer. I support letting women and their doctors make this decision without government getting involved. Period. End of story. Now your turn, Senator Paul. We know you want to allow government officials like yourself to make this decision for women –– but do you stand by your opposition to any exceptions, even when it comes to rape, incest, or life of the mother? Or do we just have different definitions of ‘personal liberty’? And I’d appreciate it if you could respond without ‘shushing’ me.”

Paul was confronted by Wolf Blitzer about his stance on “personal liberty” and asked Paul straight out, “When should a woman have a right to have an abortion?”

Paul didn’t give an answer, as usual. He instead went into being a physician and holding tiny babies in his hand, again sensationalizing 7, 8, and 9 pound abortions as though women are lining up in droves to end third-trimester pregnancies as a form of birth control.

That simply isn’t true. Less than 1.5% of abortions happen after 20 weeks gestation, and those are typically for medical reasons. Other reasons that are between a woman and her doctor are none of Paul’s business, but there are only 4 doctors in the entire country that will perform a third-trimester abortion.

Those abortions come at a great cost to woman both physically and emotionally, as those pregnancies aren’t generally categorized as “unwanted.” They make up a minute percentage of abortion procedures and are extremely expensive.

For Paul and the Republican Party to continue to use this sort of propaganda to do nothing other than keep their religious base energized is a complete travesty.

Watch Wolf Blitzer Destroy Rand Paul with DNC Chair’s answer to his ridiculous question.

Paul and Bundy: Tax Evasion, Sedition Or Tales Of The Negro?

In Cliven Bundy, Did Bundy tell Paul about the Negro?, JAMESON PARKER, Nevada A ‘Sovereign State’, Paul hobnobs with tax evader, Rand Paul on July 3, 2015 at 8:01 PM

Re Post from Addicting Info

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); var icx_publication_id = ‘14291’; var icx_copyright_notice = ‘2014 TheProgressiveInfluence’;

Before the AddictingInfo piece with quotes from Cliven Bundy regarding his visit with Rand Paul, we will restate a couple of non-negotiable points about Paul.

Rand Paul is a Chameleon…and he knows it.
He speaks to his audience without regard for
veracity and honesty, thus he changes his colors to suit the moment.
Next, Paul is an admitted liar and manipulator who did not hesitate in 2013 to speak of mis-information as a use utility.
Paul’s visit to Nevada earlier in the week was marked with a well noted 45 minute meeting with the nation’s number one tax evader.  Well, let’s say number one evader who doesn’t employ high priced overseas tax shelters.  Paul’s visit with the man who will not hesitate to “tell you about the Negro,” was perplexing until Bundy started to talk.  It is important to recallv Rand Paul traipsed through a series of phony visits in the black community a couple of years ago.  He has also spoken false prophecy about the need for his part to become more “concerned” about the African-American Community.

The Chameleon in Paul is ever-present and only disguised by media that refuse to acknowledge Paul’s erratic inconsistencies.  Why would Paul speak with a man who is obviously devoid of any intellect and commons sense, other than to leverage the notoriety of Bundy among people who hate the US government and people who probably harbor copious levels of bias against people of color? Did Paul not care that Bundy would reveal the essence of their meeting? Along that line, it isn’t outside the realm of possibility Paul left the message with the verbose Bundy to garner the very revelation Bundy is now sharing: a message to those who harbor thought of sedition, militia and yes racist who support Bundy.

Cliven Bundy Claims Rand Paul Promised Him As President He’d Make Nevada A ‘Sovereign State’

AUTHOR JULY 3, 2015 1:44 PM
In politics, your reputation is often about the company you keep, and for Sen. Rand Paul, that company is noxious enough to leave any reputation in tatters.
As part of his desperate bid to lift his sagging poll numbers and get recognition as a “legitimate” Republican candidate, Paul seems to have gambled on the power of the fringe far-right to bring him the votes. Who better to help appeal to that fringe than the king himself: defiantly criminal rancher Cliven Bundy.
As you may recall, Bundy kickstarted a media circus last year when he boldly refused to pay the over $1 million he owes the United States government for illegally using public lands for grazing over the course of decades and turned the issue into something about “freedom.” (He never could quite articulate what that issue might be.)
Conservatives loved him. Fox News sang his praises. They remained giddy about Bundy even after he began assembling a veritable right-wing militia at his ranch, which could be seen pointing their AR-15s at federal employees sent in to speak with Bundy and enforce the law. They labeled him a hero… right up until he started giving interviews that revealed him to be a virulently racist, possibly mentally unstable, old man who was standing less for “freedom” and more for “personal profit.”
And Bundy hasn’t really changed in the ensuing months. He doubled down on the idea that he knows a thing or two about black people. He’s quoted in The Guardian as saying:
“He said he had not personally heard any complaints from ethnic minority groups. ‘I’ve never had a black person or a brown person ever say anything bad about me.’
“Then he proceeded to make fresh contentious comments, first by repeating the comparison between slavery and welfare dependence: ‘Receiving welfare and housing – is that a sense of slavery when you get caught up in that and can’t get out of it for generations? They don’t have freedom.’”
Apparently, this is the guy Paul wants to be associated with. And according to Bundy, he was even willing to secretly make the rancher certain promises about how great things would be for, say, criminal ranchers, if he were elected president. Bundy told reporters that Paul had personally promised to make Nevada a “sovereign state” that wouldn’t be beholden to federal laws.
“Bundy said Paul told him: ‘If I was president of the United States, Nevada would have their sovereignty,’ Bundy told KNPR’s State of Nevada program.
“He said, ‘One of your biggest problems is getting Nevada to recognize its sovereignty and to stand up for its sovereignty,’ Bundy also said. ‘He said he would turn over the jurisdiction authority and allow the state of Nevada to act like a sovereign state. He said it would be up to we the people to govern ourselves.’”
Presumably he meant the state could ignore things like federal enforcement of gay marriage, Roe v. Wade, and of course, grazing fees on federally protected lands.
The problem with this promise, if Paul indeed made it, is that it is absolutely unconstitutional and doesn’t just skirt the line of insurrection, it jumps right over it. Perhaps Paul doesn’t remember, but the United States fought a Civil War when a few states tried to say the exact same thing a while ago. Part of being a member of the United States means you don’t get to choose which federal laws your state has to abide by, even if you personally disagree with them.
Paul knows all this. He’s not stupid. So why would he have such a friendly meeting with a man who seems to want to overturn some of the very bedrock of the country’s system of governance so he can graze his cattle for free?
The answer is simple: pandering.
Paul’s spokesperson claimed he hadn’t spoken to anyone for as long as Bundy claimed to have talked to him, although they also didn’t deny that the two met, either. It’s likely that Paul was hoping his meeting with Bundy would go unnoticed in the press and his comments or nods of agreement with Bundy would slip through the cracks. Instead, Paul looks like at best a candidate who openly admits to not understanding the job he’s running for and at worst sympathetic to a wacko like Cliven Bundy, a racist criminal with dangerous ties to radical right-wing militia groups. Neither is a great look for a man who thinks he’ll be president one day.
Editor’s note: At some point, Paul’s campaign will almost certainly try to claim that he didn’t understand what “sovereignty” means to Sovereign Citizens. Since the SC movement is quite taken with Paul’s father, Ron, and is closely associated with the Libertarian movement Rand claims to represent, this would be absolute 100% bullshit

Remember the video below? Rand Paul showing why we refer to the scheming Kentuckian as a Chameleon. In the video,  Paul runs from immigrant family “Dreamers” While his ultra racist Iowa companion (Steve King R-IA) struggles through the interaction.

The much longer version:

The next day Chameleon Paul took Great Van Sustren here. What a sham?
An even better example of Paul’s Chameleonism was his 2013 comments to an audience of medical students at Louisville University. The inimitable politician confessed to an inner core of “misinformation.” Now. I must ask, ” what does the Chameleon do when it changes it colors: It misinformation for affect Paul, is no different and frankly displays a vast array of variable colors.

When Paul runs from interactions, that is no different than lying for affect.

As Donald Trump has revealed yet another Todd Akin moment for the GOP, Paul refuses to join Ted Cruz in wallowing in Trumps Pigpen.

This is a near remake of the tape where the brave Rand Paul flees a dispute between King and actual immigrants like King has suddenly turned into a peanut and Rand Paul suddenly remembered he was allergic to them. He’s not a fan of giving his opinion on whether undocumented immigrants are or are not subhuman monsters. Perhaps he ought to stop hanging out with people who opine those things?

Paul is as phony as they come and his penchant for cutting and running is a prime example of one with a personal paradigm of crafty, wiggly and sly.  Basically, a Chameleon.

Freak Out Nation explores the Paul and Bundy meeting. Did Paul meet with the tax evader Bundy as an emissary of the Kochs?

In any case, Paul took his “state’s rights” Libertarian gibberish to the point of cognitive constipation. According to Paul, states should have final say on land issues, animal issues and other Bundy related items. Is it possible someone in the audience would have asked Paul about a scenario where one state legalizes the killing of the Bald Eagle and a neighboring states adheres to strict laws prohibiting such killing?

Rand Paul is an apple that did not fall far from the DNA of his father’s tree.
Rand Paul, one of the eleventy thousand GOP presidential candidates, is reaching out for the white moocher vote. Did he endear pride as he spoke of black people and “Mexicans?” We hope not, but for some of you we unfortunately know you relished his comments and may share his racism and bigotry neatly bundled as “White Supremacy and Privilege.”

Bundy remarks as report by of all media: The Blaze. I believe the Blaze is Glenn Becks internet conservative rag.
The New York Times first reported the controversial comments.
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” Bundy said Saturday, according to the Times, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.”
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he continued. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Rand Paul: ‘Sickness’ of Charleston Shooting ‘Isn’t Going to Be Fixed by Your Govt’

Nor, will it be fixed by Libertarian nut cases, the NRA nor any conservative efforts to slow the assault. The opportunism exhibited by Paul is astounding and as insensitive as saying he was happy not to be in Baltimore when cops facilitated the death of Freddie Grey. Why not open mouth and provide oratory regarding the common denominator and root cause of the murders: race? Rand Paul was raised by a seething racist. How about a comment from Paul “The Younger” regarding the racism that also led to the murders?

The GOP Presidential candidate goes “off topic” to challenge President Obama’s remarks this morning. How about the insensitivity and the gall?

PicMonkey Collage - Rand Paul
Sen. Rand Paul was speaking at a conference with the Faith & Freedom Coalition, where he went off topic to comment on the massacre at Charleston earlier last night. Paul’s statements come as a counterpoint to President Obama‘s earlier call for gun control, saying “there’s a sickness, there’s something terribly wrong, but it isn’t going to be fixed by your government.”

“What kind of person goes into church and shoots nine people?” Paul asked the conference. The 2016 GOP hopeful went on to say that the solution to curbing violence was in acknowledging the limitations of the government, and keeping track of people who do not understand “where salvation comes from.”
“Can government save you? Can government be the be-all end-all,” Paul continued. “The reason I ask is that I meet with pastors, and they’re looking at government for the answers. I look back at them and I say, ‘I’m looking at you for help.’”
Paul concluded the segment by talking about how the government has let him down in the past in the same way that gun control has let down the victims of violent crimes. Paul said that America’s founders had understood that “liberty without virtue” was impossible, but believes that that perspective has been lost amongst Americans recently.

Rand Paul is a Chameleon. He will say whatever it takes to garner the attention of an audience and he frequently spews inane drivel that is disingenuous and frankly with motive.

I run this piece on The Progressive Influence at least once per week. I refuse to accept that viewing the video segment is a waste. When an elected US Senator visits a university campus (Louisville University in Kentucky) and speaks about the utility of misinformation, the senator can’t say anything that should be considered credible, in my mind.
  • Letter to the editor, Bowling Green Daily News, 2002-05-30
Rand Paul in ’02: I may not like it, but ‘a free society’ will allow ‘hate-filled groups to exclude people based on the color of their skin'”,
  • I would introduce and support legislation to send Roe v. Wade back to the states.
  • We have people coming in by the millions…Am I absolutely opposed to immigration? No…We have to find a way to believe in the rule of law, believe in border control and at the same time, not villify the issue.

  • I never, ever cheated [in medical school]. I don’t condone cheating. But I would sometimes spread misinformation. This is a great tactic. Misinformation can be very important. We spread the rumor that we knew what was on the test and it was definitely going to be all about the liver. We tried to trick all of our competing students into over-studying for the liver. “So, that’s my advice,” he concluded. “Misinformation works.”

Video added via The PARDUPaul at University of Louisville

  • Rachel Maddow:  Do you think that a private business has the right to say we don’t serve black people?
  • Rand Paul: I’m not in favor of any discrimination of any form; I would never belong to any club that excluded anybody for race. We still do have private clubs in America that can discriminate based on race. But I think what’s important about this debate is not written into any specific “gotcha” on this, but asking the question: what about freedom of speech? Should we limit speech from people we find abhorrent? Should we limit racists from speaking? I don’t want to be associated with those people, but I also don’t want to limit their speech in any way in the sense that we tolerate boorish and uncivilized behavior because that’s one of the things freedom requires is that we allow people to be boorish and uncivilized, but that doesn’t mean we approve of it. I think the problem with this debate is by getting muddled down into it, the implication is somehow that I would approve of any racism or discrimination, and I don’t in any form or fashion.
  • I do defend and believe that the government should not be involved with institutional racism or discrimination or segregation in schools, busing, all those things. But had I been there, there would have been some discussion over one of the titles of the civil rights. And I think that’s a valid point, and still a valid discussion, because the thing is, is if we want to harbor in on private businesses and their policies, then you have to have the discussion about: do you want to abridge the First Amendment as well. Do you want to say that because people say abhorrent things — you know, we still have this. We’re having all this debate over hate speech and this and that. Can you have a newspaper and say abhorrent things? Can you march in a parade and believe in abhorrent things, you know?

That last statement is indicative of a Chameleon who could not change her/his colors in time to completely obliterate unwanted disclosure.

Paul recently sat with The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart. If he could be believed, he could be an interesting person. Well, correction, he could be an interesting person if he wasn’t the son of one Ron Paul and if he possessed a modicum of cogent thought and accompanying oral wherewithal.
