We are posting a couple of Intelligence Quotient (IQ) related studies for your perusal. The first study is important and the detail of its importance is highlighted via reading related comments below the piece. New Study shows Liberals have a lower average IQ than Conservatives

08/10/2011 iahymnews

A new study conducted at Socialists shows that in America, Liberals have a significantly lower IQ than Conservatives. The study was conducted on 100,000 registered voters in 40 different states over the last twelve years, and has concluded its results.

The first part of the study lists the correlation between political beliefs and intelligence. Subjects of the study were chosen at random and requested to come to an unmarked van to take a test and answer some questions for a reasonable amount of money.

Of the 100,000 people, there were people from many doctrines, from conservative to liberal to marxist to fascist. Socialists came out on bottom, with an average IQ of 87. The second worst were Liberals and then Marxists, with 88 and 89 respectively. Conservatives received an average score of 110, which is significantly above average. However, the conservatives did not score the highest. The holder of second place were Communists with an average I.Q of 115, and the first place was apolitical people who did not follow any specific doctrine, who received a whopping score on average of 135.

IAHYM News attempted to interview President Barack Obama on the new find, but he refused to speak directly. Instead, while walking down the strange hallway, he told correspondent Joseph Ducreux that the study
was ridiculous and false, but failed to provide any reason as to why or
how the science of the study is at fault.
Hilary Rodham Clinton was also contacted, but she immediately hung up
the phone when she figured out that the study was being mentioned at all.
Other parts of the study included the daily activities of the various people based on their doctrines. Apparently, Liberals are five times more likely to commit a crime, steal or cheat on a test than anybody else except for Socialists, 52% of which have committed a major felony while being watched. Conservatives not only did not commit any crimes, but they actually prevented them, as the few events where a Conservative was threatened by a thief or mugger was hindered by a concealed handgun. Also, Communists are the most likely to commit rape or sexual assault, second to socialists.

The study was conducted in other countries as well, where 81% of Muslim Extremists admitted to following the Liberal doctrine and idolizing President Barack Obama. The study was conducted by a group of roughly 900 different scientists across the country over the past twelve years, each one taking on a little over a hundred people per person.

Oh yeah, and everything in that bullshit you just read is completely and totally false. There has been no such conclusive study, and all of the “Finds” are based on public paranoia. Chances are good that if you are a conservative, you were empowered by this new find.

If you, even for a second, thought this find might be true, you are probably an idiot.

Racist Proudly Confronts Mary Landrieu (D) LA. ("They got their place.")

We need not comment here: Racist Alert!

What you are about to read is a reality that is the underlying reason so many literally hate President Obama.  It is also the reason so many flock to voting booths and cast votes against with race as their underlying motivation. They do so with subsequent election of people who do the nation great financial and economic harm.

The question: “Do you vote along with people such as the racist who confronted Landrieu?” Are you proud of your answer to the question?

Voter warns Mary Landrieu on Obama: ‘I don’t vote for black people… They got their place’ (via Raw Story )

An article published by NPR on Tuesday indicated that Sen. Mary Landrieu’s (D-LA) tough re-election battle in Louisiana could be less about her vote for health care reform, and more about her decision to support the country’s first black president…

Larry Wilmore For The Daily Show: Unmucking The "Confederate Apologist" And More

In Lee Atwater, Mitt Romney, racism, Ronald Reagan on February 25, 2014 at 12:13 PM

American’s who are denizens of far-Right social ideology are people who attempt to cling to “conferred privilege,” while in some cases actually rationalizing a sad past!

A past that spans humanity with glowing examples sprinkled throughout the existence of the human being.

Ronald Reagan’s political posturing under an umbrella of what amounted to, It is OK to be bigoted” racism and bigotry has metastasized into what we see and experience today. And, we see it on a daily basis. Sadly, neither Reagan nor his political guru/operative Lee Atwater were avowed racist! Yet, their politics contributed to reversals of the short-lived Equal Rights revolution  in America.

The 2008 and 2009 inauguration of an African-American (In a direct sense) president has moved racist dialog from the deep-Right closeted nuances to the level of consistent and expected by those who feed on its vile and deleterious impact on their psyches. They have been taught bias and hatred without exercising opportunity to modify or alleviate the sickness via available intervention. Interventions that simply require a basic thought of, let me question what my parents, my social environment and my schools have taught me about people who are different from me.

The following diagram illustrates my point and I will follow with a vile example of my point. The Fox News example, is admittedly fueled by quests for revenues via feeding those who relish the sad lessons (rhetoric, oratory and lies). Nonetheless, the Fox News segment is vile and indicative of the harm the network feeds the nation and the world.

I copied the following diagram from the website linked via the Cycle of Socialization link below. The linked diagram is colorized version of the diagram found via the Diversity and Social Justice link. The link is provided for point of reference only; we are not about the business of advertising for book sales.
As you view the diagram we ask that you recognize, the human being who moves through the cycle has opportunity to intervene at “Direction For Change” or the Do Nothing” Points (of the diagram).

A quick look at the diagram and we offer exposure to a well educated “preacher for political leverage and profit.”

The Jon Stewart, Comedy Central – The Daily Show, show turned the camera and microphone over to Larry Wilmore for an exposition on the “neo-Confederate apologists.” Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano, knows better.

The Fox News segment….

Napolitano argued that the 16th president could have avoided the “murderous” Civil War if he’d allowed slavery to die a “natural death,” as it had elsewhere …”

Seriously Napolitano? Just as slavery was becoming a capitalist opportunity in more and more territories as people looked to grow the nation?

‘Daily Show’ obliterates Fox News Confederate apologist: ‘I just un-f*cked your facts’ (via Raw Story )

Jon Stewart and The Daily Show’s “senior black correspondent,” Larry Wilmore, drove a stake through Confederate apologists’ arguments Monday night in an epic segment. Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano said during a Feb. 14 panel discussion…

I offer another example of how the American Right uses ignorance, bigotry and racism to nurture and promulgate their poli/social agenda? How about John Sunnunu traipsing around the country and the globe on the coat-tails of Mitt Romney speaking about President Obama as, “….not being of the Anglo experience….”  Now, think about how quickly the member of the British Parliament and the media published the private remarks as an exhibit of deeply embedded racism.

Thought leads to behavior and action. Did Mitt Romney’s campaign website exclude African-American outreach? Of course, it was a development decision to exclude the black portion of the “47%” of what Romney and Ryan called “takers.”

And, what was Romney’s and Paul Ryan’s stated reasons as to why they lost the election? Ryan: “the urban vote.” Romney, “Don’t get the minority vote.” Interesting considering their levels of inherent ignorance!

Wilmore mentioned the “unraveling” (he chose another word) of the “confederate apologist.” It is also important to “unravel” all things converative because they mean us great harm.

The Daily GOP Ignominious: Two Examples Of Why The GOP Is Dying!

In Bias, GOP, racism, RNC, Sarah Palin, The Daily GOP Ignominious on December 5, 2013 at 4:23 PM

…and as good progressives, we have been very diverse in our depictions. Below you will find two of the very worse from this week.

Sarah Palin

The “Wicked from Alaska” has adorned a bit of make-up and brighten the room around her to relish in the demise of a competent and truthful journalist.  How tragic is she?

And, I am seriously failing to understand the logic behind her ‘victim” syndrome in the case of Bashir.

We offer yet another example of why Republicanism is a dying breed. MSNBC actually booked a person who works for the RNC, and works for the republicans as an African-American. I wonder what percentage of African-Americans in the GOP does he represent. One of 6% of all African-Americans? Interesting to say the least.
Imaging working with people in a political environment where bias, bigotry and racism lives behind the nearest door, or the closest wired phone receiver. Think of actually sitting in strategy meetings on depriving black people, Latinos, college aged kids and the elderly the right to vote. Of course, we assume the guy below is an invited member to those meetings.

Could you exist where millions share email-chains full of lies and in some cases as disgusting as an email those we have seen over the past five years?  Could you actually work in a party that has taken a hand-off of all comments against overt racism in the GOP.  I did not recall Mr.Watson speaking out against Rick Santorum  and his “BLAH PEOPLE.”  Nor, do I recall Mr. Watson publicly commenting on the racist who stood and waver a Confederate Flag in front of the White House. An act never before perpetrated in US History. Wonder if Mr. Watson can make the connection to why the racist waved the flag?  I believe I missed Mr. Watson’s comments after learning of Ted Cruz’s affinity and wish for life as it was for Jesse Helms.

How much would you wager Mr. Watson was very quiet as Mitt Romney and his team of bigots rolled this out for the public. No African-American outreach.

Rosa Parks, Racism and The Modern GOP

Rosa Parks - http://mariopiperni.com/

Glad to see the RNC being called out on their idiotic Rosa Parks tweet for their suggestion that racism has ended.

03-12-2013 3-54-33 PM

Oh, okay.

Nothing to be shocked or surprised at here. It’s business as usual for a political party whose very existence is based on being able to attract America’s entire lot of racists and bigots. As was clear during the Trayvon Martin uproar, the GOP operates on the premise that racism is a thing of the past…or, at the very least, this is what they’d like their mindless sheep to believe is true. If there’s no racism to speak of in America, then every bigoted racist move they pull (e.g. voter ID laws that target black Americans, Confederate flags at Tea Party rallies, birtherism…) can’t be racism, can it now? Pure bullshit, of course, as Ron Rosenbaum explains in a 2012 Slate piece.

I’m not saying all Republicans are racist. I’m saying that as a party, ever since Goldwater and Nixon concocted the benighted, openly racist “Southern Strategy” in the ’60s, the Republican Party has profited from overt and covert racism.
The Southern Strategy was designed to capitalize on Southern white resentment of court-enforced busing to end school desegregation, of the 1964 Civil Rights Act’s prohibition of discrimination in interstate commerce, of enforcement of the 1965 Voting Rights Act to prevent historically racist Southern counties and states from discriminating against blacks who sought to exercise their right to vote where once they’d been effectively barred. By playing on these issues, Nixon and other Republicans of this era won many traditionally Democratic votes in the South. Later, GOP opposition to affirmative action, race-based hiring “quotas” and all other methods of compensating for the debilitating legacy of slavery, Jim Crow and segregation fed into what was one of the momentous shifts, a total turnaround in just more than a decade (1970 to 1984) from a solidly Democratic South to a solidly Republican one.
Which is how the RNC tweet like the one above came to be.
The first truth is that this staffer, whoever it was, in all likelihood made this slip for a reason. She or he has been schooled to believe that racism did end, and that all present-day discussion of the problem is just whining from society’s takers. We might call this a central tenet of the right, although the word tenet dignifies it too much. It’s more like a fact-free conviction, held by people who are never capable of imagining walking a hundred yards, let alone a mile, in another person’s shoes.
Whoever this tweeter was, s/he has been hearing the refrain since the day s/he got into the game. Yes, there was racism, and it was wrong. But racism, she’d have been tutored to believe, was a Democratic problem (check that; a Democrat problem, her tutors would undoubtedly have said). She’d have heard all about how it was really Republican Sen. Everett Dirksen who passed the civil-rights bill (which is like saying the Serbs defeated the Nazis—they were on the right side, but they hardly carried the heavy artillery). She’d have been instructed to repeat “Party of Lincoln!” at the necessary intervals, and she’d have been coached in the phony, euphemistic language that Republicans use to acknowledge certain past sins but to press forward, sunnily noting that all of that is “behind us.”
[…] It’s amazing that it’s been six decades since Rosa Parks did what she did, and there hasn’t been one prominent national Republican leader who has said simply: “We were wrong. We, the white people of the South, the evangelicals, George Wallace’s famous beauticians and firemen, the beating heart of today’s GOP—we were wrong.” I’d like to see that tweet come out of the RNC, but I’m not holding my breath.
You want something else not to hold your breath hoping it’ll ever happen?
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Bob Dylan said:
This country is just too fucked up about color. … People at each other’s throats because they are of a different color. It’s the height of insanity, and it will hold any nation back—or any neighborhood back. … It’s a country founded on the backs of slaves. … If slavery had been given up in a more peaceful way, America would be far ahead today.
Yes: “A country founded on the backs of slaves.” And a party cravenly unashamed to base its existence on the backs of slaveholder states. Journalists, start telling the truth about the GOP.

Tom Robinson To All Anti-Racists…

If you are not active in combating racism, you are in fact an enabler! If yo are active in the fight, You are our heroes. ~The Pardu

I need to share something with you Folks.
It is my response to a friend, a good friend who over the last couple of years continues to insist that racism is getting better, This friend has a good heart and does not mean any harm and is entitled to his opinion, but I believe that he and many like him are making the same mistake by encouraging others to lower their guard because they feel that the battle for equality is waning and not as justifiable as it has been in the past.
We’ve had this conversation before where you insist that racism is dying out… How would you know, are you Black, have you ever experienced it before? On one hand you say that it is worse than ever; more vicious and more strident than ever before; on the the other you say that it is dying out. With respect, I am afraid that you and many others are engaging in wishful thinking and to take it a step further; ” cognitive dissonance.”

Unfortunately so many people; White people still refuse to listen to what Black people are saying to them, they relegate our “actual, daily experiences” to someplace beneath their opinions, which is a continuation of the parochial arrogance that has always been displayed towards African Americans… It is disrespectful and it wrong.”

As one Black American, among the majority of Black Americans who experience’s racism on a daily basis, as it is systemic and incorporated into our culture, I implore you not to lay down your arms as the battle is just heating up and if you look at what is happening in our society, especially among our political ” leaders,” and the blatant and obvious racism, you know that we are right.

Every time you push that narrative, you give the apathetic permission to be even more complacent. Racism will never be eradicated, unless “all hands are on deck” and not resting in their comfort zones. >The new racism: The denial of racism in our culture can be seen as a new form of racism, spurred by the apathetic oblivion in which many people reside.

South Africa is marketed to the world as a rainbow nation, where everyone is proud of their race and heritage. But for some black South Africans, there is such a thing as being too black. Local musician Nomasonto ‘Mshoza’ Mnisi, now several shades lighter, says her new skin makes her feel more beautiful and confident. “I’ve been black and dark-skinned for many years, I wanted to see the other side. I wanted to see what it would be like to be white and I’m happy,” Mshoza says.

If you are naive enough to believe that America is a post racial nation, you have lived in a closet since January 20, 2009. Of course you could have a belief system and innate racism comparable to the Hawai’ian panelist on the “without Prejudice” Game Show (embed below).  Since President Obama won the Oval Office, US racism has blossomed like a field of Sunflower plants. Unfettered bigotry and overt racism have proliferated comparable to a bag of Orville Redenbacher ™ Microwave Popcorn in a two minutes popping cycle in a micro wave oven.

Racism is particularly oppressive in many ways. Consequently, a significant and horrible psychological state is that of the oppressed who over-time acclimate to oppression (Stockholm Syndrome) and work to rid their personal discomfort by joining the oppressors in their dastardly deeds. Worse yet, some strive to assimilate such they literally work to changes their physical appearance.

Before we move to those who would spend copious amounts changing their appearance,  we want to show you an abhorrent example of over-the-top overt racism.

This is unfucking believable… But you know what; I lived in Hawai’i for close to 20 years and found more than a few who have exhibited this shameful attitude… These people re-imagine themselves’ as somehow being superior, conveniently forgetting that they have been conquered and colonized and their ancestors were/are relegated to Hawai’ian homelands “> Reservations,<” as well. They readily accept the positions and hatred of their captors while displaying excellent examples of ” Stockholm Syndrome.”

Without Prejudice, The Game Show

……..the name of the show was “Without Prejudice” and aired for a short time on the Game Show Network about three years ago. The show was originally created in the U.K., and the video clip below is from the pilot episode of the U.S. version.
The object of the show was to get a group of five strangers to decide which member of another group of five strangers should receive a prize of $25,000. The contestants were only allowed to make their decisions based on their opinions from snippets of videotape that they were shown.
In the clip, one of the contestants shocks the rest of the panel with his opinion of “Michael,” another contestant who the group was evaluating.
Watch:

http://youtu.be/HaT0MMuMZWo

Tom Robinson’s remarks are as poignant as it gets. The racist game show guest has ancestry that suffered under colonial rules from many nations. His ancestors suffered under oppressive rule and racism comparable to that of Native Original North American nations in the continental (Manifest Destiny) United States. Yet, the Hawai’ian guest exhibited non-verbal contempt for the young African-American with the first camera shot (watch his reaction to the image). Contempt to the level of blanket bigotry and racism is only possible if developed an nurtured via one’s family (parents specifically), school, and social environment (friends of lack there of). His actions, especially on-camera, were deplorable and an indicting example of “white (conferred) privilege.” Imagine being placed on a lower social hierarchy simply based on race.

You shouldn’t have to imagine. If you have lived beyond the age of five years of age, you know social hierarchy in one form or another. The division may be gender based, socio-economic (rich or not rich) thin or plump, gay or heterosexual, and white or minority. The Hawai’ian guest is an intriguing study in racism. Apparently, he traveled to guest accommodation along with the African-American man the day before. During the ride, he obviously provided no opportunity for the black guy to ascertain his racism. And, there-in lies a social phenomenon that places African-Americans as targets for those who perceive they hold a higher rung in the social hierarchy.

Do you believe the Hawai’ian would have felt same about a white guy pictured behind the show host? If he felt same, do you for one second believe he would feel inclined to openly declare his dislike based on the white guy’s race? Let’s take the questions to another level. Do you believe if the Hawai’ian was a hiring manager he would voluntarily consider the African-American as a candidate for hire? The racist would undoubtedly hire a less qualified candidate then extend an offer to the African-American.

You have just read through one dynamic that contributes to disproportionately high black unemployment. Of course, there are other contributing factors. But, those factors if or when, eliminated leaves the candidate for employment facing a veritable moat surrounding the job with an invisible that reads ‘white only.’

There are others, particularly celebrities, who take their “Stockholm Syndrome” state to a level only attainable via wealthy. We offer two very drastic examples, with other examples viewable this link

Atlanta Black Star Dot Com

Sammy Sosa

Sammy Sosa is a retired professional baseball player who played with four Major League Baseball teams over a 19-year career. During an interview, Sosa reportedly smiled when talking about what the cream does for his face. He said, “It’s a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some. It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften my skin. I live my life happily.”

michael jackson

Michael Jackson – The King of Pop said that he was diagnosed with vitiligo universalis. However, in 2010, almost a year after his death, detectives found large quantities of general anesthetic and dozens of tubes of skin whitening creams in Michael Jackson’s home.

Michael Jackson obviously suffered greatly for ethnic self-loathing.  His extensive and over-the-top efforts to remove any semblance of his African-American ancestry (even) reached into his personal choice for fathering children. We will leave that statement as it sits based on or lack of ability to validate claims of Jackson’s use of purchased or gifted semen from others.

The Hawai’ian game show guest is an extreme and bodacious example of why African-Americans live under a shroud on mistrust.  An entire ethnic segment of the US populace lives with the need to validate others before fully entrusting and working to co-exist.

The 15 African-American delineated in the Atlanta lack Star piece, “more power to you.”, but you must accept the message you send to people who also contribute to your celebrity.

A parting remark about the Hawai’ian game show guest.

A very wise person once told me, “….you will never be discovered as a fool, if you keep your mouth shit.”  The very same for the wisdom of keeping your racism in your inner core

Robert Redford Speaks To CNN. OOPS, It Got A Bit Frank! Racism?

In Addictinginfo, CNN, GOP, GOP Obstruction, President Obama, racism, Republicanism, Ted Cruz on October 17, 2013 at 3:16 PM

The nation is in the fifth year of  the 44th Administration of US Presidents.  Barack Obama was sworn into office on January 20th, 2009.  Despite post Stimulus (immediate)  improvement  in the US economy and despite the elimination of the nation’s number one enemy of the state, and despite administering a more fair and equitable Executive Branch,  we are yet to complete a week without overt cases of GOP obstruction. GOP obstruction reaches you and me, it reaches the chronic poor, it reaches military families, it reaches critically ill people, it reaches the disabled and it reaches the must helpless on our society: the children.  Moreover obstruction  kills international opportunities and can lead to an America severely diminished in the minds and reality of other industrialized nations.

Yet, the president has persevered and advanced the nation wherever possible especially when faced with obtuse obstruction. President Obama has moved forward despite all barriers to reach the level of 200 (plus) major accomplishments.

Obama’s Top 50 Accomplishments

“I think whatever idea I would have had to make things work just wouldn’t have been accepted by this minority faction. I think that no matter what you would propose they would go against it because their determination was to destroy this person [Obama]. They wanted–if it meant destroying the government–anything to keep him from succeeding.”
“I think just the idea of giving credit to this President, giving him credit for anything, is abhorrent to them, so they’ll go against it. Never mind that it’s the better good of the people, never mind that they’re supposed to be in office representing the interest of the public. They’re representing their own self-interests, which is very narrow and in some cases bigoted.”
“There is a body of congressional people that wants to paralyze the system. I think what sits underneath it, unfortunately, is there’s probably some racism involved, which is really awful.”
“Politics is supposed to be the art of compromise. They are supposed to compromise to move our country forward.” ~ Robert Redford

Redford: Women, young people must save U.S. from men ‘behaving stupidly’

  More Redford

Most celebrities would not venture into such frank remarks. let’s face it “we cannot offend anyone, now can we.”   I will never forget the report of Michael Jordan responding to why he does not speakout about Republicanism. His response “Republicans buy shoes also.”  Yeah, protect those millions whatever the cost.
Redford’s remarks people echoed the thought of many million across the nation.  In fact, if his thoughts are not echoed by the majority, we run the risk of turning life over to those who would use the very same obstruction, bias and racism to control and manage the population. You may be OK regarding race, but you probably fit an “ism” somewhere along the spectrum.
Redford mentioned, the presidents record and his lack of comprehension as to why after all is said an done, the Right continues to work against the nation.
We offer an slightly dated example of Obama’s accomplishments.  The list is now longer with additional accomplishments, but we respect the integrity of Milt Shook’s list; we wait for his next update!

Rush Limbaugh has earned well over three quarters of a billion dollars off the psyches are relish, “low information” and who soak-up demagoguery like a sea sponge.  People who sit each day for three hours and listen absorb unsubstantiated rant after rant with just enough racism, sexism, homophobia and other “isms” to tickle their fancy.  The man is a marketing genius, racist to the max and an over-the-top (hyperbolic) demagogue.  He is well compensated, his audience feeds off his rhetoric and his network owners rake-in the revenue. Is there a more productive business relationship in the nation?  Fox News runs a close second, but Limbaugh has ranted his way to that of GOP Ideology leader. He is an existential leader of the GOP with more power than the nerdy Reince Preibus, McConnell, Boehner and Cantor combined. Limbaugh wields a bigger stick than the fading Grover Norquist.

Media Matters has published the latest example of Limbaugh propaganda that will equal any works for Joseph Geobbels. He denies the US economy was trashed by the GOP (Bush/Cheney et al.) and Obama inherited a slippery slope of a Great Depression Abyss.

The salient point of the Media Matters piece? Limbaugh knows damned well the economic conditions of the nation in late 2008 and early 2009.  He so disrespects professional ethics (the truth) and his listeners as he feeds them “rotten” red meat.

You or me could journey to the nearest homeless camp and get fine details about the state of the economy as Bush left office.

By now you should recognize the ultimate point of this piece; the state of mind of people who tune-in to Limbaugh. His rhetoric and his drawing poor (among non-thinkers and the easily led) is exactly why some non-elected noted republicans will speak-out against Limbaugh.

There is another point, we should thank the heavens that we are of sound-mind enough to avoid the flaming unethical rhetoric of Right-wing demagogues.

"Our Political Nature," The Book. Understanding The Depths Of A Problem Can Lead to Alleviation!

In bigotry and racism, GOP, racism, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan on September 10, 2013 at 10:27 AM

” The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.” John Kenneth Galbraith, economist.

There are books and there are books. We realize the book reference via Alternet.org and posted below is strictly for high information readers. It is truly a book for the ages. I should not assume that non-high information readers will not read the book. Yet, I feel comfortable in my posit, “I DOUBT IT.”

The book deals with a topic that seems hands-off in the United States. After a brief period of racial tolerance and the appearance of a degree of inclusivity, it is obvious elements in the nation wish to return to a time long past. Their desire to “GET THEIR COUNTRY BACK,” is no surprise. It was expected as an outcrop of years of Republican ‘tinkering’ with race based politics. Some who read the TPI know my thoughts on the erosion of race relations in the United States. I think the erosion is directly attributable to US GOP Presidents and their party starting as far back as Richard Nixon. Audio links in the excerpts below are bit hard to discern. These are recently released audio that clearly show the deep level of ethnic, religious and social animus at the highest level in the GOP (during that period). Ronald Reagan’s comments on the tapes, provide validation of the GOP commitment to “all things” Nixon.

In a June 13, 1973 conversation with secretary Rose Mary Woods, Nixon discussed the entertainment at an upcoming event. Johnny Mann and Debbie Reynolds are in. What about Danny Kaye, Nixon asks, “and not because of his ideology.” Kaye, a singer and comedian, was born David Kaminsky to Ukrainian Jewish immigrants in 1913 (pictured at right via Wikimedia Commons). Woods starts to say, “Well they were going to try to get him but…” And Nixon cuts in: “He’s Jewish?” Woods ignores him, continuing, “I don’t know what happened whether—” Nixon interjects again: “He’s Jewish.” Woods explains, “They had to check him out with the Russians.”

In an April 18, 1973 phone call with Spiro Agnew, Nixon said Jews were holding American foreign policy “hostage to Jewish emigration from the Soviet Union.” He added, “Some of the Jews picket can raise hell, but the American people are not going to let them destroy our foreign policy — never!” This was a subject to which Nixon repeatedly returned.
The bigoted mixes with the banal. In an April 14, 1973 phone call, the president tells his wife he’ll be working late on a speech, so he’ll miss dinner. He asks about a garden tour she did with children. “You know it’s funny, the little black kids are so uncommunicative, aren’t they? Good golly,” Nixon said. Pat Nixon (pictured at left, via Associated Press) replies, “Yeah but these were better than most, did you know that? They’re all dressed up and everything.” Nixon was surprised. He had a tougher time with black kids: “They didn’t react, though.” The first lady explains, “Well, with you they were a little different.” At her event, “They were better, you know.”

Ronald Reagan as the King of race relations reversal and facilitator of social inequity among all citizens literally showed it was “OK to be a bigot.” From bigotry, racism is the very next state of social deterioration.  The eroded state of race relations we experience today is strategically metastasized by the political party on the Right.

The book represents a deep, deep review of conservatism as a social phenomenon.

Why Racist People Tend to Be Conservative

Glenn Beck has been called a leader of the ultraconservative opposition to President Obama, and a voice of the far-right Tea Party movement. During the depth of the Great Recession, in 2009, Beck was quickly rising to a position of national prominence, despite—and because of—his extremely controversial statements. In July 2009, for example, Beck declared: “Everything that is getting pushed through Congress” is “driven by President Obama’s thinking on . . . reparations [for slavery],” and is conceived of as a way to “settle old racial scores.” Beck also asserted that a “deep-seated hatred for white people” drives President Obama.

Examining Beck’s political psyche is a fruitful exercise because his bigger-than-life personality magnifies the traits that interest us on his end of the spectrum. But do Beck’s statements characterize a typical position of the Tea Party or of the far right in general?

In 2009, 2.8 million viewers tuned in to Beck’s television program. Moreover, Beck’s live shows and merchandise business have earned $35 million in a single year. Considering that Beck is essentially selling political ideas, it’s fair to say that his ideological orientation carries substantial currency among a particular segment of the US spectrum.

Racial Threat and Distorted Demographic Perceptions

Just as a majority of white Americans show implicit levels of anti-black ethnocentrism, over half of all Americans greatly overestimate the proportions of blacks in the population. They also have similarly distorted perceptions of other minority groups. In 1990, the average American believed that the country was 32 percent black, 21 percent Hispanic, and 18 percent Jewish (even though the actual figures then were 12 percent, 10 percent, and 2 percent).

White Americans who give even higher estimates for the proportion of black America also tend to (1) mistakenly believe that the average African American has an equally good or better income, job, housing, healthcare, and education than the average white American, and (2) take conservative positions against affirmative action and against food stamps for the poor in general. These right-wing perceptions and policy preferences reflect a view that minority groups constitute a demographic threat and a competitive drain on the in-group’s resources.

If we do not at least try to understand the roots of a problem, the problem will grow in breadth and scope.
