The Daily Gop Ignominious: Todd Akin, Donald Trump And Right-wing Media

  

After Donald Trump commenced his campaign for the 2016 GOP nomination for president with his 2015 Todd Akins moment (linked here), Right-wing media and certain GOP politicians circled the wagons and set the defenses. Both Trump and Akins remarks remind of a now viral You Tube video. The republicans were so busy working to impress their bigoted potential supporters they overlooked the reality of their statements: unadulterated bigotry went unheeded while running  into the bank campaign.  Actually the 34 second video could stand as a metaphorical visual of failed  GOP governance; they consistent miss the mark.

Trump’s comments were foul and racist without question. The question is however, how effective is right wing social media, Fox News and GOP politicians at smoothing over the comments like body lotion applied int eh middle of summer in Las Vegas.  Goes away really fast.

On July 2nd, Fox News managers and producers dispatch one of its ever-present blonde hosts to really support for Trump via exhorting other GOP candidates to speak similarly.

As none Fox News viewer can you imagine life with Fox as your primary source of news and current events? Ruppert Murdoch and Roger Ailes’s media concoction actually broadcast a segment with fodder for its viewers that is clearly support for white racism.  

In addition to numerous Conservative comments sprinkled around web sites such as Mediaite, other social media are digging deep for what amounts to false equivalent fodder for their readers and viewers. 

One such example is the site: Freedom Outpost (Don’t Tread on Us). Apparently the developer of the site found value in seeking out a case of President Obama hopefully making similar remarks.  

Why does the phraseology “Don’t Tread…” Seem to denote manipulation, false pretense and false equivalence?  While I thought seriously about avoiding the next statement, for sake of honesty and veracity I have to say: Why does “Don’t Tread..” appear to be deployed in many cases where even a modicum of intellect would ward-ff the reader?” Of course, the question is rhetorical, we know the answer.

Expend a few minutes an see (read and understand) how right-wing media goes about its business.  The developer of on Freedom Outpost grab an except form a segment of President Obama rightly and answering a question about immigration with a great deal of empathy. Here is the Freedom Outside: “Obama caught calling Mexican “Gang Bangers.” Guard your intellect and avoid over-exposure to the web page.

Mediaite located and posted Obama’s actual response to the question from the audience.  A marked difference, I will say.

Now, contrast the president’s response to a question with Trumps wanton, announcement speech dog whistle (attempt).

If you found equivalence, you are probably not one who will find The Progressive Influence (TPI) a place to visit. If you found sanity in the Fox News segment linked above, you may have a far more serious problem than visiting the TPI and temporary upheaval of your emotional state. You might have a social issue that will only paradigm shift with concerted efforts to shed teh horrors of right-wing dogma and latter stages of terminal Republicanism.
