Fox Reporter Made Career Off Tale She Survived Terrifying Home Invasion, Turns Out She Lied (VIDEO)

AUTHOR MARCH 5, 2015 10:56 AM
It isn’t only Bill O’Reilly over at Fox who has been busy fabricating past personal experiences to add weight to his political opinions. Step forward local Fox reporter Emily Miller – who fabricated an entire home invasion at her residence to boost her career.
Miller has spent years telling anyone who will listen about a horrifying home invasion she claimed to have suffered on New Years Day 2010. Miller told an “NRA All Access” interview that:
“a man — the police believed to be a drug addict — got into the house and started robbing it. So when I came back into the house, he was in there robbing.”
But then, according to Miller, things got a lot worse:
“After the man left, I was still suspicious so I went inside, grabbed my Blackberry and clicked on the icon for the camera. I walked down the street, and as I turned the corner, I saw about 15 scruffy young men standing around two pickup trucks. We were at the end of a woody, dead-end road.
I nervously held up my Blackberry to take a quick photo of them and the license plates. Suddenly, the blood-shot-eyed guy darted out, blocking the shot. ‘What are you doing?’ he asked. I looked around at all the men staring at me and was suddenly scared.”
This account of 15 mob-types eventually chasing Miller back to her house comes from a widely-read Washington Times series titled “Emily Gets Her Gun,” which Miller later turned into a book called, “Emily Gets Her Gun . . . But Obama Wants to Take Yours.
Miller has since recited the events many times over, regularly stating that she was a “victim of a home invasion.” One such recitation was made during a speech in Annapolis as recently as February 10. this year, to assist gun-rights groups in lobbying against gun-control restrictions.
Most of us interpret a “home invasion” to mean the horrifying ordeal in which intruders burst into a residence and (in most cases) do bodily harm to the occupants.
As an investigative report by the Washington Post has revealed, what really happened to Miller was far less dramatic. The following comes from a supplemental report on the event by D.C. police:
“[Miller] stated that she left out to walk the dog at 1515hrs and when she returned at 1525hrs she observed [the suspect] exiting from behind the fence which leads to the side of the house. [Miller] asked [suspect] ‘What are you doing here’ and [suspect] stated ‘I am delivering firewood.’
[Miller] stated that she went into the house and felt that something was not right, so she exited the house to take a photo of [suspect’s] vehicle. [Suspect] approached [Miller] and gave her a business card that stated [a tree service] and [suspect] left the scene. [Miller] stated that [suspect] was operating a silver pick up truck with landscaping on the side of it.”
In reality then, Miller told police that she came back from walking her dog in the middle of the afternoon to find a man claiming to deliver wood to her home. She took his card, and he left. No chase, no drug dealer, no 15 angry men racing at her.
Just like O’Reilly, Miller has spun a tall tale to gain a career advantage – she got air time, column inches, a book deal, and a whole host of billings to speak at gun advocacy events. All on the back of a fairy tale. Fox News: high on drama, low on facts.
You can watch Miller reciting her bogus story below:

Regional and State Unemployment, 2014 Annual Average Summary: Historic Lows

In BLs, Unemployment at historic lows on March 5, 2015 at 4:31 PM

Some will dispute my assertion that we again see Democratic Administrations manage the US economy at a far better level than Republican administrations.

The Bush Administration experienced some fantastic stock performance and lower unemployment years. The artificially fueled US economy riding the tide of a sub-rime bubble helped with a false since of veracity for trickle-down supply-side economics.

The BLS published a summary of Regional and State Unemployment averages for 2014. If you read through the summary, it may not be possible to blindly believe the GOP is good for the US economy.

Quick Hit: Ferguson Missouri Police Department Underbelly!

In Ferguson Police Dept Email. SPLC, Ferguson Police Dept., racist jokes on March 5, 2015 at 3:01 PM

The Southern Poverty Law Center published a few email from the recent DOJ investigation of Ferguson Missouri’s Police Department: The Ferguson Report.

We plan to publish more on the DOJ report in the near term.

SPLC: The seven racist e-mails the Justice Department highlighted in its report on #Ferguson police.

It is impossible to believe that the racially charged environment of the Ferguson Missouri Police Department did not, in part, contribute to Darren Wilson devaluing the life of Michael Brown.

It seems the enthronement in the Ferguson Police Department is quite the contrary of how many across the nation view police officers.  Moreover, it is not possible to imagine an environment such as this did not contribute to a total disregard for life at the and of one Darren Wilson.
Now, think about those dollars you sent to the Wilson “killers” fund.  The dollars went in support of what you read above.

Dr. Ben Carson: An Idiot Savant

I predicted that Ben Carson was going to have problems back in 2013. And I disagree about having to have exceptional intelligence to become a doctor. You have to have DEDICATION, DETERMINATION, APTITUDE and the PERSEVERANCE to jump through the required hoops, but no more intelligence than the average auto mechanic. Medicine is a craft, and any person of ordinary intelligence can be taught a craft. After all, they taught George W. Bush to be a fighter pilot. Being a good craftsman is about having the ability to follow a pre-determined road map, while intelligence is the ability to think out the box.

About Dr. Ben Carson
Dr. Ben Carson recently said that Obamacare was the worst thing since slavery. Is he serious? Is making it possible for millions of uninsured Americans to obtain affordable healthcare worse than Jim Crow and the countless lynchings of African Americans across this country since slavery? Is Obamacare worse than blatant racism, the bombing of innocent children in church, the senseless murder of Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, or the gross murder and mutilation of a 14 year-old Emmet Till? Is this man out of his mind?
The problem with Dr. Carson is, in spite of his medical skill, he’s clearly less than an independent thinker. Many of his comments seem to suggest that instead of assessing reality for himself, he’s content to believe what he’s been taught to believe. That’s why I’m so quick to advise people that while Dr. Carson may be a brilliant neurosurgeon, he’s far from what we would consider an intellectual. Not only does the inaccuracy of his comment on Obamacare and slavery betray a monumental level of perceptual ignorance, but the fact that he lacked the insight to anticipate the national uproar over such an assertion, clearly demonstrates that his perceptual ignorance is, at the very least, tinged with more than just a little unmitigated and stark stupidity.
We should never confuse education, or a given skill, with intelligence. Dr. Carson is clearly validating my position in that regard. We tend to hold medical doctors in high esteem and assume that they have an intellect that’s far superior to our own, but that’s not true. It’s a factoid – a lie that’s been repeated so often that it’s accepted as fact.
The fact is, the practice of medicine is a craft. Doctors are just like auto mechanics, with the exact same diagnostic and analytical skill set. The reason we hold them in such high esteem is because of all the hoops they have to jump through to become a doctor – which is much more an expression of discipline and determination than intellect – and they have the ability to save our lives. But these are things that can be taught to anyone of average intelligence, discipline, aptitude, and drive. These are all laudable qualities, but they say nothing of one’s ability to think.
Thus, while medicine is a highly disciplined craft, it’s a craft nevertheless. So while doctors are undoubtedly highly trained professionals, they’re no more intelligent or insightful than the rest of the population, as Dr. Carson’s belief in talking snakes clearly attest. So if he decides to move into the political arena where he’s exposed to REAL thinkers and intellectuals, he’s gonna be torn to shreds.
The problem with people like Dr. Carson is, he obviously thinks that he has better judgment and insight than the over 93% of the Black community who voted for Barack Obama. But as that old saying goes, when you begin to think that everyone is crazy but yourself, it’s time for YOU to be examined – and examined he’s gonna to be. Thus, in the end the power of his intellect, or lack thereof, will no longer be a matter of speculation. But personally, I’m betting against him, because in this environment, just being a Black Republican alone betrays an abundant level of stupidity.
